Setting Sail Anew Amid Wind and Waves, Forging Ahead to Write a New Chapter in Preventive Testing — A Report on TaiKai Testing Company’s Preventive Tests at the China Resources Chengfengling Wind Farm
Release date:
2021-09-28
On September 10, 2021, more than 20 testing personnel from Shandong Taikai Testing Co., Ltd. traveled to the Chengfengling Wind Farm in Wuzhai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. After five days and nights of continuous work, they successfully completed the preventive testing program for all equipment at the 220 kV wind farm, ensuring that the facility was smoothly connected to the grid in the early hours of September 16 and earning unanimous praise from the customer.
The 220 kV wind farm’s comprehensive preventive testing project marks the first wind power project of 220 kV voltage level and with a full range of equipment types that the testing company has undertaken since its establishment.
During contract execution, confronted with practical challenges such as staffing shortages, equipment deficits, and tight delivery schedules, the testing company proactively coordinated specialized technical personnel. It successfully carried out a series of critical tasks, including transformer‑substation testing on rugged, bumpy mountain roads, high‑altitude wiring for isolation devices, and salt‑density sampling of bridge‑rack insulators, thereby demonstrating its solid professional expertise.
Meanwhile, the testing personnel have persevered through harsh, complex, and hazardous on-site conditions, working tirelessly and without complaint. Particularly during outdoor lightning arrester tests on transmission towers, operators must climb to great heights to perform wiring tasks, which places significant demands on their mental fortitude. Undaunted by hardship or fatigue, they take the lead and demonstrate a strong sense of dedication, embodying an exemplary work ethic.

The successful completion of this contract has bolstered the company’s confidence in undertaking preventive testing projects for entire 220kV wind farm substations, aligning with the company’s strategic plan to build 220kV preventive‑testing capabilities and enhancing its market competitiveness in this segment. Moreover, as the first 220kV wind farm substation preventive‑testing project independently executed by the testing firm, it is sure to mark a significant milestone in the company’s development journey.
