Release date:
2026-04-02
On April 1, 2026, Shandong Taikai Instrument Transformer Co., Ltd. held a grand launch ceremony for the production of its ultra‑high‑voltage 1,000 kV tank‑type capacitive voltage transformer (referred to as the 1,000 kV tank‑type CVT), along with a witnessing event for the first set of component parts, at the Taikai South Industrial Park. Leaders and experts from State Grid’s UHV Department, State Grid UHV Construction Company, the China Academy of Electrical Sciences, Wuhan Nanrui, and the four major equipment manufacturers—Pinggao Electric, Xi’an Switchgear, Shandong Electric Power Equipment, and Northeast Electric Power Equipment—gathered on site to jointly witness this industry‑first milestone: the official entry of this core UHV equipment into mass production.

The meeting was chaired by Li Qian of the State Grid Ultra-High Voltage Construction Company. During the session, TaiKai Instrument Transformer Co., Ltd. presented a detailed report on product R&D and production readiness. Leaders and experts from the China Academy of Electrical Sciences, Wuhan Nanrui, Tianjin Academy of Electrical Sciences, and the four major equipment manufacturers offered professional guidance on product development, production assurance, and collaborative supply-chain integration. The product passed type tests in 2009, achieved reliable grid‑connected operation in the Huainan UHV project in 2013, and was incorporated into the State Grid’s procurement standards in 2024, with 39 units successfully awarded contracts. Concurrently, the company completed construction of a 100,000‑class clean assembly workshop and established an end-to-end closed-loop quality‑control system, thereby finalizing production preparations for relevant national key UHV projects.

The attending experts conducted an on-site review of the production workshop, process documentation, and component inspection procedures, and commended the company’s production environment, manufacturing support capabilities, and quality‑control standards, concluding that the project has met the requirements for commencing mass production. The parties also engaged in in-depth discussions on production control, key oversight considerations, transportation safeguards, and on‑site technical services, reaching a consensus on collaborative assurance measures.
Liu Yan of the State Grid’s UHV Department attended the meeting and set forth the following requirements: Given the project’s heavy workload and stringent standards, all participating units must firmly assume responsibility, rigorously control quality, and strengthen coordination to ensure the equipment is successfully commissioned on the first attempt and operates stably over the long term.

Han Changgeng, Chairman of Shandong Taikai Instrument Transformer Co., Ltd., delivered a concluding statement, noting that undertaking this national-level ultra-high-voltage product manufacturing project reflects the industry’s trust and recognition of Taikai, while also representing both a responsibility and an honor for the company. In the preliminary phase, the company carried out comprehensive and meticulous production preparations, successfully addressing all requirements raised by its collaborating partners and closing the loop on each item. The company is now fully equipped to commence mass production. This on-site review and quality‑assurance process, convened with the participation of distinguished experts, is designed to launch production under the highest standards and most stringent requirements, firmly committing to the goals of starting production with flawless products, delivering on schedule, and achieving zero defects in quality.
This production kickoff meeting marks the official transition of Taikai’s 1000 kV tank-type CVT from the R&D phase to mass‑production and delivery. Moving forward, the company will remain committed to the principles of “integrity, honesty, pragmatism, and innovation,” leveraging world‑class technology, manufacturing, and service to deliver this batch of products to the highest standards and quality, thereby continuing to contribute Taikai’s strength to the high‑quality development of China’s ultra‑high‑voltage grid.
