On January 7, 2025, a magnitude‑6.8 earthquake struck Dingri County in Shigatse, Tibet, inflicting severe devastation on the local population. At 15:30 that day, State Grid Tibet Electric Power Company notified our company that substations in the affected area had sustained damage and experienced power outages, putting the lives and property of residents at risk. In response, our company promptly mobilized and deployed resources, striving to manufacture equipment of the required specifications and models in the shortest possible time to support emergency rescue and relief efforts in the disaster zone.

Disasters are merciless, but humanity is compassionate. To address the functional damage to substations in the earthquake‑affected area, and in accordance with the chairman of the Instrument Transformer Company’s directives, the General Manager of the Power Electrical Equipment Company promptly convened an emergency disaster‑relief meeting—formulating and finalizing technical, production, and air‑freight packaging plans, while actively coordinating with various transportation providers to ensure timely delivery. Upon receiving instructions from State Grid Corporation, the company acted with utmost urgency, completing the entire process—from product design and production deployment to the commencement of manufacturing—within 90 minutes. In line with grid‑emergency‑response requirements, it urgently produced four 110 kV high‑altitude surge arresters.
The Lightning Arrester Division’s two production teams operated around the clock, completing the entire process—from manufacturing to shipment—in just 20 hours. At 14:00 on January 8, a dedicated vehicle dispatched the equipment to Beijing Capital Airport, from where it was transported via Chengdu to Lhasa. By 9:30 on January 10, the shipment had arrived by truck at the Lazi Substation site. From receipt of the rescue order to delivery at the Shigatse Substation, the project achieved seamless land‑and‑air handover—from design and production to on‑site deployment in the earthquake zone—within a mere 66 hours, thereby gaining precious time for emergency response and disaster relief and demonstrating TaiKai’s speed, responsibility, and commitment.
